Barnsley Judo Club

Welcome to Barnsley Judo Club — a friendly, welcoming community club where people can learn judo, build confidence, get active and make lasting friendships.
Whether you're stepping onto the mat for the very first time, returning to judo after years away, or looking to develop your skills further, you'll find a supportive environment where everyone is encouraged to learn and progress at their own pace.

Junior Judo.

Our junior sessions are fun, active and welcoming, giving children the opportunity to learn judo while developing confidence, fitness, focus and resilience.
Judo teaches children to listen, persevere, respect others and believe in themselves — all while learning new skills and having fun on the mat.
Whether your child is confident and sporty or a little more nervous about trying something new, they'll be supported to learn at their own pace.

Building confidence, friendships and skills for life.

Fitness • Strength • Confidence • Skill • Community

Senior sessions.

Our senior sessions are welcoming, challenging and supportive, whether you're completely new to judo, returning after a break or looking to develop your skills further.
Judo is a great way to improve strength, fitness, coordination and confidence, while learning practical skills and meeting new people in a friendly club environment.
You don't need to be super fit, strong or experienced to get started. Come as you are, learn at your own pace and build from there.

Training sessions

At Barnsley Judo Club, we train every Monday and Thursday, with sessions for juniors, seniors and families.

Monday — Olympic Suite (Upstairs)

Juniors: 6:30pm – 7:30pm
Seniors: 7:30pm – 8:30pm

Thursday — Family Judo (Main Sports Hall downstairs)

7:00pm – 8:30pm

Monday our separate junior and senior sessions give members the opportunity to learn and develop at a pace that's right for them, with a focus on judo skills, fitness, confidence and having fun.

Thursday is our large family session, bringing everyone together on the mat.
The session is structured so that families can train side by side, making it a great opportunity for parents, children, siblings and other family members to enjoy judo together.
Whether you're working on your own skills, supporting a younger family member or simply enjoying being active together, Thursday sessions are all about judo, family and community.

Everyone Welcome
Whether you're new to judo or have been practising for years, there's a place for you at Barnsley Judo Club.
